I’ve worked on a lot of projects (3d printing, grooming habits, video calling), but don’t publish enough. I don’t get to the critical point of trying to deliver what I’ve created into a real market. I don’t do the last 5%, I don’t risk it for the biscuit, and I don’t get enough feedback.
In parallel, I’ve recently been learning through experience that the only reliable way to build behavior is through habits. Shipping is certainly a behavior. The answer then, might be to make shipping a habit.
I’ve committed to publishing a small thing every day, even if it’s a working note or reflection. Using the namesake of this site for simple accountability. I should also open source more of my messy experiments and push commits more frequently.
V1: Just update this site manually. Use an extension to quickly add the date. Very tempted to try to automate, or use Notion + Super?

2022-01-19: Streamlined workflow to insert date easily and keep dev server running in the background. Decide on writing an intro to coffee.
2022-01-18: Learning that maintenance and editing is going to be a live, time consuming activity every day. Thinking about how to approach that. Started taking notes for my take on the second brain idea. Still on the fence about trying to integrate this habit with taking notes in Obsidian (a lot less friction).
2022-01-17: Manual non-scalable attempt. Set up Hugo Templates to make it easy. I use a special parameter to single out one of my posts as my “today” post. I will manually update and deploy one my posts every day.
